Addictive Drums 2 is the ultimate drum production studio. With EZD you've only got 1 ambient track, with Chocolate Audio's you've got 4 room mics and then the individual kit mics. However while they sound great out of the box for me they are a bit over processed and dont always fit in my mixes. The room mics are really the only thing that keeps me doing it this way. I've used EZD2 for a while now and write with it, once I'm done writing the drum track, I open up Chocolate Audio's Black Album drums, import the MIDI in that, then bounce it into individual audio files, so I can have a separate track in Logic for every drum/room mic. I have thousands of MIDI's saved on my hard drive and I can always tell when one isn't one of theirs, because every hit is at 128 already, anything I've gotten from ToonTrack has been a nice colorful display of varying velocities and they don't always sit directly on the grid. ToonTrack (EZPlayer / EZDrummer / Superior MIDI packs + all the MIDI expansion packs except for the metal genre) 2. They're own MIDI's are quite dynamic regarding the velocities, at least they have been in the past. ![]()
